Summer is here, and there's nothing like the sound of the ice cream truck cruising through the neighborhood. The kids' eyes pop open wide and they gleefully run to the curb with their change in hand to purchase orange creamsicle popsicles, ice cream sandwiches, or bomb pops. I get a rush of excitement myself and I think back to the good ol' days at my grandparents house getting a special treat from the ice cream vendor. These orange cream popsicles are a nostalgic flavor that holds such great memories for generations to come.
Ingredients: Orange layer: 2 containers Greek Yogurt; 3 containers Yoplait orange creme flavored yogurt; 2 tablespoons. heavy whipping cream; 2 tablespoons orange juice; 4 peeled and seeded clementine oranges Cream layer: 2 cartons Greek yogurt; 1/4 cup heavy whipping cream; 1 tsp. vanilla Directions: Place ingredients for orange layer in blender. Blend for 3-5 minutes, or until smooth and creamy. Pour into the bottom of popsicles molds, filling 2/3 full. Place ingredients for cream layer into the blender. Mix for 1-2 minutes, or until ingredients are combined. Pour cream layer over orange layer, filling to the top of the mold. Using a small knife or wooden skewer, gently stir to swirl the mixture. Insert wooden stick. Freeze popsicles for 4 hours, or until firm. For best results, freeze overnight. Makes 6 popsicles. To thaw, run molds under luke warm water for 15 seconds. Repeat if necessary. |
