Orange Creamsicle Cupcakes

Summer vacation officially kicks off this week.  One of the first things my kids like to do is visit our downtown candy shop called Oh My Lolli.  Each lollipop is handcrafted and uniquely flavored to suit the pickiest taste buds.  Although they have every flavor imaginable, one of our favorites is orange cream.  It may not be as trendy of a flavor as let's say lemon pomegranate, but it's an old fashioned flavor that stands the test of time.  There's something about orange and cream that go hand in hand-like peanut butter and jelly and chocolate and Nutella- it just works.  Oh My Lolli started its business in a down cycle of our economy.  The owner did some research which showed candy shops endured during hard times, even during the Great Depression.  I have a feeling Oh My Lolli will be around for awhile and so will their old fashioned flavors.
