School's out for the summer! Hooray! I've been taking the kids on a lot of outings to enjoy our sunny Mid-West weather. There are three essential items I always pack for our excursions-sunscreen, flip flops, and OREO cookies! We are such big fans of OREO cookies and all their fun and unique flavors. Caramel Apple and S'mores are two of our favorite flavors! I was so happy when OREO asked me to team up with them to help promote their new products such as Milka OREO Chocolate Candy Bars and Milka OREO Choco-MIX Snack MIx. The OREO candy bars are so rich and crunchy and the OREO Snack Mix literally melts in your mouth! But don't just take my word for it! From June 30-July 2, participating Walmart stores are doing exclusive in-store OREO product demonstrations. Head to a participation Walmart near you to taste some of delicious new products.
While you're at the Walmart OREO tasting, make sure you pick up in store coupons for extra savings on OREO products. Also, be sure to enter the OREO My Creation contest. Dream up your ideal OREO flavor for a chance to win $500,000! Click HERE for details!

My OREO Creation for a Black Forest Oreo was inspired by our family's recent road trip to Pittsburgh. My teenage son blasted "oldies" on the radio during the drive and jammed out to the music. Seeing the joy classic rock tunes brought my son reminded me of my childhood summers listening to my parent's Beatles records. Like classic rock tunes, classic dessert flavors never go out of style. My Black Forest Oreo creation pays tribute to an iconic dessert that I've enjoyed for decades and will continue to love for years to come.
Although Black Forest cake was originally created in Germany, this flavor has emerged as a classic American dessert. Black Forest cake has graced my family's table on many birthdays and holidays throughout my childhood. The rich chocolate, tasty whipped cream, and tangy cherry filling makes Black Forest cake such a delectable dessert.
Since the whipped icing is traditionally on the outside of the cake, I think it would be fun to see an "inside out" OREO cookie with a pure white vanilla cookie with a chocolate creme center. To incorporate the Black Forest cherry flavor, the center of the chocolate creme could be swirled with cherry creme. YUM!
Black Forrest cake, oldies, and OREO cookies are three of my favorite classics. They may evolve through the years and reinvent themselves from time to time, but they continue to get better with age!
My kids loved our "OREO" picnic on the patio! We loved trying the new OREO flavors, and we've had a lot of fun thinking of new flavor creations.
