My family loves meaty pizzas with pepperoni, ham, and bacon. I have to admit, I'm more of a veggie and herb kind of gal when it comes to my pizza toppings. I'm not knocking good old fashioned pepperoni pizza, but I like a more savory bite to my pizza. This Margherita pizza is loaded with fresh basil, tomatoes, garlic, and a zippy tomato basil sauce. I drizzled it in a balsamic brown sugar glaze, which really added a unique flavor to the recipe. So, meat lover beware! This isn't your typical take-out recipe for pizza. But it's full of herbs Italian cheeses, and tomatoes, and appeals to my savory side!
