My kids are back in "school" this year, officially starting their online course work to wrap up the semester. I'm excited for them to get back into a regular learning routine, but I'm also a little nervous. Since my husband and I both work, I'm worried they might have to wait until the evening to get questions answered. Their teachers have offered online "office hours," but the times are limited. They are understandable busy attending to their own kids and cannot be available 24/7.
In the middle of my worrying, I was asked to partner with a company called OneClass. This online tutoring company offers free homework assistance with high school, college, and university math and science, seven days a week. They also have live exam prep courses in most general collegiate subject areas. My son has used in person tutoring, but he hadn't tried an online tutoring service. My son doesn't do well with change, so I wasn't sure how the transformation would go. I decided to step out of my comfort zone and see if OneClass would be a good fit for him.
Once accessing the website, I was impressed with the array of free tutoring options. In addition to doing a livestream tutoring session, you can type in the name of your school to access study guides and commonly asked test questions for a particular subject. For example, I typed in MIchigan State University and was brought to a page with "popular study guides" in over 4,ooo subjects and "popular notes" in over 7,ooo courses. There were study guides for both spring and summer classes, which included comprehensive potential final exam questions. There were also "trending" final exam questions from previous years that could potentially be asked on a final exam.
It's such a relief to find a website that has notes, comprehensive study guides, and free livestream tutoring at your fingertips. These resources have made it easier for my kids to receive immediate homework help from a friendly and knowledgeable tutor if they are stuck on a particular problem. When my son goes to college next year, it will be nice to know he'll have study resources lined up for his courses.
I hope you're staying healthy and safe at home! Hopefully Oneclass will take one less item off your plate, as it did for my family.
