Halloween may be on hiatus this year due to the pandemic, but we're still going to celebrate our favorite fall holiday this year with these Easy Ghost Brownies. I wanted to create a recipe that was simple yet festive. All you need to make these Ghost Brownies is a boxed fudge brownie mix, vanilla candy coating, black sugar pearl sprinkles, and a ghost shaped cookie cutter. This is an easy recipe that gets the whole family involved. My kids and I had so much fun making these treats after school. These Easy Ghost Brownies really lifted our spirits and put us in the mood for Halloween fun. We put them in a plastic resealable bag and place them in a neighbor's mailbox for a haunted treat!
I hope you're having a great start to your October and ready for some haunted Halloween fun!
Here's how we made these Easy Ghost Brownies:
Ingredients: One box fudge brownie mix plus oil and eggs as specified on box; 12 ounces vanilla candy coating; black sugar pearl sprinkles; one ghost cookie cutter
Directions: Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Line a 9X13 baking pan with parchment paper. Prepare the fudge brownie mix according to package directions. Use a spatula to spread brownie mix in pan. Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center of brownies comes out clean.
After brownies are cooked and fully cooled, lift parchment paper from pan and set on countertop. Use a ghost shaped cookie cutter to cut 6-8 ghost shapes. Use a spatula to remove each ghost onto a plate. Place the candy coating into a large microwave safe bowl. Microwave candy coating in 30 second intervals. Takes approximately 1-2 minutes to melt. Stir until smooth. Hold each ghost over the bowl of melted candy coating. Use a knife to spread candy coating over the front of each ghost. Place ghosts on waxed paper. Decorate their faces using black sugar pearl sprinkles. Allow ghosts to dry before serving.
