Since I'm so close to my immediate family, it's easy to tell the tales of where my recipes originated from and why we enjoy them. But lately, I've been thinking about my extended family's heritage and wondering how I can incorporate more of their culture into my blog. I was so happy when GPS Origins asked me to team up with them for a promotion of their DNA Collection KIt. I know I have ancestors they are of European decent. But I'd like to learn more about the exact locations they lived and the origins of their migration routes. I'm thrilled that GPS Origins will give me the chance to learn about my genetic history, origin percentages, and migration stories! I'll soon have some interesting tales to tell about where my DNA was formed approximately 1,000 years ago!
I was a little nervous to take the test initially, thinking I may have to visit a physician or give a blood sample. But GPS Origins makes it so easy to collect your DNA. Upon receiving your kit, you simply register your kit on their website and create an account. Next, you rub 4 swabs on the inside of your cheek, for 30 seconds each. Then you place the swabs in a pre-paid envelop and wait just 10 business days (maximum) for your results!
When the results are ready, you'll receive and email or text message. I can't wait to share my results with my readers and tell everyone about my migration history. Look for some exciting recipes reflecting my newly discovered family history!
